The state offers a powerful combination of production value, scale, and infrastructure for filmmakers looking to maximize what they put on screen. Its incentive program supports a wide range of qualifying projects, including film, television, commercials, animation, VFX, video games, and XR, and applies to eligible in-state spending across pre-production, production, and post-production.
In addition to the core incentive, productions can benefit from several financial advantages that help stretch the budget even further. These may include up-front sales tax exemptions on many production purchases and rentals, hotel occupancy tax refunds for qualifying long-term stays, and certain off-road fuel tax refunds.
For projects that qualify, the state currently offers a cash-grant incentive structure with base rebates that can reach up to 31% in some cases. Together, these tools make it an increasingly attractive place to finance, produce, and deliver content efficiently.
